Maritimo put five past Vitoria de Setubal in seven-goal thriller

Maritimo clinch an emphatic 5-2 win over Vitoria de Setubal in Sunday's Primeira Liga clash at the Estadio dos Barreiros.

Maritimo have secured an emphatic 5-2 win over Vitoria de Setubal in their Primeira Liga clash at the Estadio dos Barreiros, with Dyego Sousa and Gevorg Ghazaryan both claiming braces for the Madeirans.

Following a largely eventless first half, the visitors opened the scoring just before the break through Joao Costa.

Maritimo, however, pulled a goal back shortly after the restart through Ruben Ferreira, before Sousa and Ghazaryan extended the Funchal side's lead.

It would get even worse for Setubal as, in the 75th minute, Nuno Pinto was shown a second yellow card and given his marching orders, with the game put well beyond their reach through Ghazaryan's 79th-minute penalty.

Suk Hyun-jun edged the visitors back to within two goals eight minutes before the end, but it proved too little too late as Maritimo scored once again in injury time - the goal coming from Sousa - to safely secure all three points.
