Team News: Roberto Di Matteo hands Champions League starts to Marco Hoger, Chinedu Obasi

Roberto di Matteo makes two changes for the visit of Sporting Lisbon in his first Champions League game in charge of Schalke 04.

Roberto Di Matteo has made two changes for his first game in charge of Schalke 04 in the Champions League, as they take on Sporting Lisbon at home in Group G this evening.

The Italian has largely kept faith with the team that won 2-0 against Hertha Berlin at the weekend, but Christian Fuchs and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting miss out, with Marco Hoger and Chinedu Obasi taking their places.

The visitors include Manchester United loanee Nani in their side as they look to pick up their first win in this season's competition.

Schalke are currently third in the group with two points from as many games, while Sporting Lisbon are rock-bottom after one loss and a draw.

Schalke starting XI: Fahrmann, Ayhan, Aogo, Howedes, Uchida; Hoger, Neustadter; Draxler, Boateng, Obasi; Huntelaar
Subs: Wetklo, Kirchoff, Meyer, Choupo-Moting, Sam, Fuchs, Barnetta

Sporting Lisbon starting XI: Patricio; Silva, Mauricio, Oliveira, Cedric; Carvalho, Mario, Adrien; Nani, Slimani, Carrillo
Subs: Boeck, Martins, Montero, Capel, Rosell, Sarr, Mane
