The British and Irish Lions have thrashed a Combined Country XV 64-0 in the fourth match of their Australian tour.

The Lions scored a total of 10 tries during an emphatic display at the Hunter Stadium in Newcastle to maintain a winning start to their travels.

George North touched down twice during a rampant first half for the visitors, while Alex Cuthbert, Conor Murray, Stuart Hogg and Richard Hibbard also went over.

Hogg added a further eight points with the boot as the Lions took a 38-0 lead at the break.

An early Brian O'Driscoll try saw the away side start the second half where they left off in the first and replacement Leigh Halfpenny converted his own score on 56 minutes to increase the Lions' advantage.

Halfpenny then added the extras after Sean O'Brien touched down on 66 minutes before the Welshman converted Jonathan Davies's try in the final minute.
